My Life in Pictures More Elementary Fun! The adventures just keep on coming our way. I hope to see lots of this in the rest of the program. Elementary Years Fun. I am so thankful for an amazing cohort that is ready to get in there and have fun. There are always smiles and a willingness to collaborate. I strive to create a community like this for more people. I never walk away with an empty bucket! Observational Practicum with Pod 5. I wish that I could continue our morning selfies. These are some of the most supportive and brilliant women I have ever met! I wish I could go through school again just to be taught by all three of them! Some of my favourite pictures that show past, present and hopefully future! I felt that it was important that you were able to see those that capture the majority of my time. My best friends, my loving fiance, my mom (sorry Dad!) and the land I get to live on. I spent 2017 until 2021 working on my bachelor’s of commerce focused on Marketing. This was not because I have a passion for marketing, nor was it because I have an amazing business idea. I chose this degree because I felt that It would create an amazing springboard opportunity. I understand that learning is lifelong, and was not scared about jumping into a degree program that would most likely go unused for its typical purpose. This being said, I continue to be a lifelong learner and believe education is cyclical. I may very well become a business owner who finds success through ingenious marketing. Stay tuned to find out! 2017 was a major year in my life, mostly filled with fantastical adventures. My best friend and I bonded while in grade 8 French class when we were paired up to do a presentation. The assignment was to take the other person on a trip. My friend said that she would take me to Macedonia, the small European country that she was from. For many people, this would be a small thing that never comes to fruition. For the two of us, we followed that promise straight through until we graduated. I was lucky enough to experience her amazing culture and almost stayed there. I have yet to take her to England to meet my family, but maybe that is what we will do once we have graduated from the education program. I graduated high school in 2017. As I work my way through the education program I learn more and more about how important the community and those that support us are. I was lucky to have a strong and fierce community that would pick me up without question. As I become a teacher I remind myself of these people and how I could one day be an integral piece in someone else’s journey to graduation. In 2017 I had the opportunity to go to Cuba and perform for my high school band. When I was there, my major interest was culture and the differences from Canada. Thinking back on the trip now I can only think about the double standard of spending large amounts of money to take a sunny vacation where I was learning about how impoverished people can be. We spent a good amount of time attending performances by local schools and clubs, and each one was from a different economic bracket. This was specifically chosen to highlight the different ways people lived in Cuba. If I was to go back, I would be interested in what catches my attention and how much stuff I missed just from being young. I have grown up around animals my entire life. Here is a collection of some of the pets I have owned. There have been many more, but that would end up being its own page. I believe that animals are important in the development of empathy and responsibility and that every child should have a chance to interact with them between home and school.
